Splay & Chloe

Introducing 2 silly budgies looking to go to a home together! This is Splay (the green splay-legged boy) and Chloe, his girlfriend. They are not particularly fond of people, but they sure do love each other! While Splay is handicapped, he certainly doesn't know it- he loves to fly, crawl all over his cage, and court his lovely Chloe. They are a joy to watch and interact with!

Splay and Chloe

Charly & Phyll

This pair of budgies are so lovely- and we believe they are both females (somebody in there keeps laying eggs!). We call them Charly and Phyll! These two are active, love to fly and shred paper to make nests, and eat their veggies! They are not hand tame, but do like talking to people (well, chirping!).

Haru

Rocky

Rocky the Jardine

Rocky is an adorable, 2 1/2 year old Jardine’s parrot. He was very sick when he first came to the Center and his owners could not take care of him. Rocky has been recuperating in the hospital for several weeks and he is feeling much better! He loves to have his head scratched and he makes cute kissing sounds. Rocky will be a great companion, he is looking for a new home with someone who has plenty of time to spend with him.

Rocky Starz: Adopted!

Rocky

Male rabbit

Rocky Starz is an amazing young, neutered male rabbit who is full of energy. He loves running and leaping around the hospital and spends hours each day rearranging the adoption window. Rocky would do well in a home where he has some room to run and plenty of adults and children around to play with.

Carlito the Bugie: Adopted!

Carlito

Carlito

Carlito is an energetic and colorful budgie (parakeet) who was found hanging around with some pigeons on the street here in Manhattan. He is probably less than a year old and in good health.

Zippleback

Zippleback was found in a filthy fish tank on the curb in upper Manhattan. Why somebody would not want her is beyond us- she is the most lovely and engaging Bearded Dragon we have met! She loves to eat her veggies, chase her crickets, and just be loved. Come by for a visit if you are interested in taking her home!

Haru

Haru was most likely a stow-away in an ornamental plant! He is not the first Green Anole we have had dropped off here by someone who finds them in some new shrubbery! He does NOT like to be handled, but is so much fun to observe eating, playing, climbing, and just being an adorable lizard! Won't you come visit him and consider giving him a home?

Cheerio and Hades

Cheerio and Hanes

UPDATE: We've been adopted! Thank You.

These little budgies are both up for adoption! The green one (Hades) is quite young and had her wings trimmed before we got her. She is not bonded with Cheerio (the adorable yellow one) but they tolerate each other. We are happy to adopt them out separately, however only if they are to be introduced to other budgies. We strongly believe these birds require other bird companionship. If you are interested, fill out our adoption application and let us know!

Eventually, we will place Coconut and Brussel back together (once they are spayed and neutered) and they will also be available for adoption. We will update you with photos as they grow!!

Handsome

Handsome

HANDSOME HAS BEEN ADOPTED! This "handsome" fellow is super friendly- hand tame, and loves to whistle! He will make a GREAT partner to another cockatiel and ideally we would like to find him a home where he would not have to live without another bird. If you are interested, give us a call!

Peri

Peri

This is Peri- a DARLING female spayed rabbit. She came to us with a bit of… overconditioning… (AKA: too fat!) and we have been working on safely getting her weight down by offering her a proper diet and lots of exercise. She loves the interactions and is a true lap-rabbit. She will literally chase you in order to hop into your lap for hugs and petting. Please consider adopting this sweet friend!

Red

Red

RED HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

Introducing Red, our favorite Red-Foot tortoise. Red came to us very sick and in need of a life-saving surgery. 6 months later, she is 100% better and ready for a forever home! She is incredibly engaging- loves roaming around, hunting for treats, taking long baths, and basking in the sun. Red-Foots require very specialized care and a fairly complex setup/environment, so interested people should be very excited about reptiles and the unique ways to house and feed them. Don’t worry, we are happy to teach you what you need to know, but the rest is up to you!

Scout

Rats are inteligent, clean, and super fun to share your home with- please come and meet them!!

UPDATE: These guys were moved to NorthEast Avian Rescue where they have since found a home!

Jazzy

Jazzy

Jazzy was left at an NYC shelter suffering from a bad rabbit syphilis infection (NOT the kind humans get!). She had a rough start, but is now perfectly healthy and anxious to be loved! Crackers

Crackers

This gorgeous Blue and Gold Macaw was abandoned here when, as happens all too often, the owners decided that they didn’t want a large parrot with their new baby. All parrots are a lot of work: they are very loud, messy, demanding, and expensive. But for the right committed families, these birds can be wonderful additions. We don’t know her name, but she loves to say “Cracker!”, so we have been calling her that! Please call us to request an adoption application if you are interested.

Ruffles

We’ve been adopted, thank you!

Ruffles (half-moon conure) and Mango (Sun Conure). This crazy couple are both in their teens (one was found outside many years ago, so he could be any age!) and are a bonded pair. They recently had to be given up for tragic personal reasons by a loving owner and are very anxious to get situated in a forever home. Like all Conures, they are nervous around strangers, but they WILL bond with someone, and were very loving and affectionate with their previous owner. They will require someone who is patient and understands birds. Also like all Conures, they can be noisy! So, they require a home situation where that will not be an issue.

Arnie, ringneck dove

Thank you, I've been adopted!

Meet Arnie! Arnie is a male ringneck dove. He is one of the most affectionate birds we have ever had the pleasure of meeting! All he wants is to have a home where someone is patting him, playing with him, or letting him fly around all day! Perfect for many kinds of homes, but particularly someone who is home a lot and wants a very loving companion.
