Maggie is our hospital mascot! He was left here over two years ago, and we all fell in love! Maggie is a Black Throated Magpie Jay, indigenous to Central America. Although Maggie is in fact a male, the name has stuck. We also use several nicknames suggested by various staff members and clients: Magella, Magelicious, Magasaurus, Maggie Mae, and Magetron! Maggie spends most of his day using one of his many foraging toys, looking for his favorite food (wax worms), or stealing things from the doctor’s desk and hiding them in various nooks and crannies. He loves to play with shiny things and computer keyboards, and to take baths. Staff lunches are Maggie’s favorite time of day! Although he is outrageously naughty, we adore everything about him.
